About the Event

Your Employee Resource Groups (ERG's) and Business Resource Groups (BRG's) are more than acronyms! They should be vehicles of belonging, components of DEI strategy, gauges for intersectionality, and models of inclusive excellence. Learn how to foster high performance and engagement for each group at the Diversity 5.0 ERG Summit. This hybrid (in-person and online) learning event features Keynote Speaker, Susan Gordon, CDE, Group Vice President of DEI at Ross Stores Inc. and hundreds of ERG, BRG, DEI, and HR leaders from every type and size organization. Workshop Session: “The Evolution of ERNs: Staying between the guardrails”

As employee resource networks (ERNs) evolve and grow, the road to “yes” should be well paved and easier, unfortunately, that is not always the case.  In many organizations, ERNs are leading the way for the evolving and growing DE&I culture of the organization.  In this session Stacye McCall, Deputy Diversity Officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta will explore:

  • The challenges and opportunities of leading ERNs pre and post pandemic
  • Getting to YES! Also known as approval for new, strategic DE&I initiatives
  • Helping ERNS - stay in their lane - rather fast or slow but knowing which lane(s) works best and when and how to signal when changing lanes.

Workshop Session: "The Dark Side of ERGs”

Employee Resource Groups focus on marginalized employees for a good reason; we lack representation across every avenue. While these groups are ideal areas to create belonging, they can unintentionally bread isolation. Others pay the price when individuals believe their marginalization inoculates them from privilege. During this talk, I cover what an ERG is meant to be, how the ideal has financial benefits for companies and individuals, what the Dark Side can be, and steps you can take to stay out of the dark.

Workshop Session: “The New Era of Engagement – How to engage different people”

To what extent is it essential to measure & address employee engagement as a part of a comprehensive DEI+J Strategy – why employee engagement & how does it differ by race, ethnicity & gender in the organization in which I am embedded? Why should we recognize employees & how does this factor into DEI+J Strategies? To what extent are retention rates different for racial & ethnic minority group members & what can be done to foster inclusivity to prevent the revolving door of diversity?

Key takeaways of this presentation include data analysis and prioritization strategies that aid the DEI Professional in a comprehensive, priority-driven approach to identifying and solving complex engagement challenges for specific demographic groups.
